Rumi Moment of the Week — Living as though the Truth were True

What if we believed all of the wonderful things the sages have told us about ourselves?

“You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.” — Song of Solomon

The same we we trust the words of our parents and friends.

Please understand that there is only one thing to be understood, and that is that you are the formless, timeless unborn.” Sri Nisragatta Maharaj

The way we take for certain the intrusive thoughts of our mind.

“I just want to remind you of how happy you are because you seem to have forgotten.” — Mooji

What would it look like if we started to dismiss the magazine weight-loss advice, and the people in the television telling us what is wrong with life — but started to take the Peaceful ones seriously?

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” — Siddhartha Gautama

They keep coming around saying the same things in fantastically different ways, yet we are still committed to this limited idea of ourselves.

Be Content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” — Lao Tzu

Yet we still feel unworthy.

There is no need to be more – you are enough. Everybody is enough.  — Osho

We feel unsafe.

“You can always cope with the present moment” — Eckhart Tolle

We feel alone.

“Nobody at any time is cut off from God.” — Meister Eckhart

We feel helpless and insignificant and petty while accepting the definitions, conditions, and limitations of our birth. We never get around to completely surrendering to the words of the divine messengers.

What will you do when an Angel of Light whispers confidently in your ear:
